SRFC Thunder 96

Thunder has a core group of boys who have been playing soccer since u-4. There first year as allstar they won the President's Cup u-10 silver division. There 1st year as classic winning Harvest Cup and 2nd in President's Cup Silver. At u-12 Harvest Cup 2nd. U-13 was a up and down season with 3 tournaments won in a row in the fall. 1st was Capital City silver division, 2nd was Harvest Cup, 3rd was by far the coming out of many players. With a 16 team bracket, pool play out to single elimation. Thunder adavanced to Sunday games needing to play 3 games to win the tournament. Great play and ball control with great conditioning, thunder was able to win there 3rd in a row concluding a great fall season on the big field. Spring of 2009 was a total turn around with key players hurt and goals given up by misstakes by the defense Thunder suddenly could not win a game. Going 0 for 9 in 3 tournaments and 4-8 -1 in league. Thunder was wandering if it could ever win again. With new life and viger at u-14 Thunder has changed and added 5 new players and hopes to be a more competive team for the start of a new season in 2009/10.
